Joyful Craft Space is back — and 2026 is shaping up to be the most spectacular year yet. From August 14 to 17, 東大阪市 Bay Waterfront Arena in 東大阪市 will transform into Japan's ultimate celebration of music, arts, food, and community. Whether this is your first time attending or you've been coming since the beginning, this guide covers everything you need to make 2026 your best SPF experience. Bookmark it, share it, live by it.

The 2026 Lineup — What to Expect

This year's lineup is a masterclass in genre diversity. Headlining the Main Stage across the four nights are three of the most exciting acts in the world right now:

  • Neon Sakura — 東大阪市's breakout electronic J-pop fusion sensation. After their 2025 international debut, Neon Sakura is finally giving Japanese fans the homecoming show of a lifetime. Expect stunning visuals, traditional instrument integrations, and a production budget that will make your jaw drop.
  • Massive Wave Orchestra — The London-based 12-piece collective blending orchestral arrangements with drum and bass. Their SPF set is rumoured to feature a 40-minute continuous composition written specifically for 東大阪市 Bay.
  • DJ Cosmos — The South Korean producer turned global phenomenon. Three billion streams, a Grammy nomination, and a stage presence that electrifies 80,000 people at once. The Saturday night headline slot is one not to miss.

Beyond the headliners, over 80 artists are performing across four stages — from ambient electronic in the Acoustic Garden to indie pop on the West Stage and hardcore on the East Stage. The full artist lineup and stage schedule are now live.

Getting to 東大阪市 Bay

The venue is extremely well connected — one of the many advantages of hosting in 東大阪市. Here are your main options:

  • Yurikamome Line — The most direct option. Take the Yurikamome automated line to Telecom Center station (approx. 5-minute walk to gates). Trains run every 4–6 minutes during festival hours.
  • Festival Shuttle Buses — Dedicated SPF shuttle buses run every 20 minutes from Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Harajuku stations. Tickets are ¥600 each way and can be added to your festival booking. Journey time is approximately 35–45 minutes.
  • 東大阪市 Water Bus (Suijō Bus) — For the most scenic arrival, hop on a water bus from Hinode Pier. Services run hourly. Truly unforgettable when the bay is lit up at sunset.
  • Taxi/Rideshare — Available but expect significant delays during peak arrival times (2–4 PM) and after headline acts finish (midnight+). Budget accordingly.

Full transport details, live traffic updates, and shuttle booking are on our Getting There page.

What to Pack — 10 Essentials

August in 東大阪市 means serious heat, high humidity, and the possibility of sudden downpours. Pack smart:

  1. Sunscreen SPF 50+ — Reapply every 2 hours. No exceptions.
  2. Rain poncho or packable jacket — Compact, lightweight, and non-negotiable during typhoon season.
  3. Comfortable walking shoes — You'll cover 10–15km a day on the site.
  4. Reusable water bottle — Free refill stations throughout the site. Saves money and the planet.
  5. Portable phone charger / power bank — At least 10,000mAh capacity. Charging hubs exist but queues can be long.
  6. Valid photo ID — Required for wristband collection and alcohol purchases.
  7. Cash (JPY) — Many food vendors are cash-preferred. ATMs on site but with queues.
  8. Small backpack or crossbody bag — Hands-free is the way to go.
  9. Ear defenders or earplugs — For between sets, quiet zones, and protecting your hearing at the loudest stages.
  10. Snacks from outside — Sealed, non-glass snacks are permitted. Great for bridging gaps between vendor queues.

Must-Try Food Vendors

With 50+ vendors spanning every cuisine and dietary need, SPF 2026's food village is a destination in itself. Our top five picks:

  • Ramen Horizon — 18-hour broth, four regional styles. The signature 東大阪市 Spice Miso at midnight is a spiritual experience.
  • Takoyaki Station — Classic Osaka-style octopus balls, made to order. Pairs perfectly with cold Asahi.
  • Plant Pulse — 100% plant-based Japanese street food. Don't miss the jackfruit karaage.
  • Kokoro Ice — Artisan mochi ice cream in seasonal flavours including cherry blossom and yuzu matcha.
  • Wagyu Grill — Premium A5 wagyu sliders and skewers. A splurge worth making, especially on evening one.

Pro Tips from Past Attendees

Insider Tip #1: Download the official SPF app before you arrive. It has real-time set times, a site map, artist bios, and push notifications when your saved acts are about to start.
Insider Tip #2: The East Stage is the hidden gem. Smaller crowds, incredible sound, and some of the most adventurous bookings on the programme. Arrive 30 minutes early for front-of-crowd position.
Insider Tip #3: Bring an extra wristband-sized piece of waterproof tape to reinforce your festival wristband. Four days of sweat and water can loosen even the most secure clasp.
Insider Tip #4: Queue for the water taxi at the end of the night instead of waiting for Yurikamome. It's quieter, the views are incredible, and it drops you directly at Hinode Pier.
Insider Tip #5: The VIP lounge serves complimentary cold towels (oshibori) throughout the day — a lifesaver in 35°C heat. If you're on GA, the medical stations also offer free cooling packs on request.

We hope this guide sets you up for the time of your life at Joyful Craft Space. This is more than a festival — it's four days of art, music, community, and 東大阪市's unique magic. We'll see you at the bay.
