Food & Drinks FAQs

Common questions from festival-goers.

Small sealed snacks (e.g., granola bars, nuts, sealed sweets) may be brought in for personal consumption. However, no outside food or drinks in bottles or cans are permitted. Glass bottles are strictly prohibited. Empty reusable water bottles are welcome and can be filled at any of the 15+ free water stations throughout the venue. Baby food and medical dietary requirements are exempt — please contact us in advance at support@joyfulcraftspace.com if you have specific needs.
Alcohol is available for purchase throughout the festival to attendees aged 20 and over (Japan's legal drinking age). Valid ID (passport, driving licence) will be required to purchase alcohol. Wristbands for over-20s will be issued at the entry gate on presentation of ID. No outside alcohol is permitted. Responsible drinking is encouraged — water is available free of charge throughout the site and our welfare team is available if needed.
Yes — free drinking water is available at 15+ refill stations throughout the venue. All stations are clearly marked on the festival map and the Joyful Craft Space app. Bring a reusable bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day. Water stations are accessible to wheelchair users and are positioned at regular intervals to ensure no attendee has to travel far to refill. In August heat, staying hydrated is essential — please drink regularly!
We take food allergies extremely seriously. All vendors display the 14 major allergens on their menus. For severe allergies (e.g., anaphylaxis), we recommend speaking directly to the vendor's staff before ordering — all food staff have received allergen awareness training. The vegan village area is entirely plant-based and free from meat products. If you have life-threatening allergies, please carry your medication (e.g., EpiPen) with you at all times. Our on-site medical team is available 24/7 in the festival medical tent. Contact us at support@joyfulcraftspace.com to discuss specific requirements before attending.
